![]() ![]() I would recommend geting ChessX from as it is up to date with the latest changes and improvements. Since they are free you can try all three and see which you prefer. SCID and SCIDvsMac have many more features than the current version of ChessX but in my opinion the user interface is nowhere near as good. If you only want a program to play against you can download the Stockfish 2.0.1 GUI for Mac at, it is also free. It will load the stockfish engine for analysis purposes. have posted the most recent version of ChessX for the Macintosh (not available elsewhere) along with the latest version of the free stockfish UCI engine for the Macintosh at ChessX is an extremely nice program for studying PGN chess files. I would recommend ChessX, SCIDvsMac, and SCID in that order. ![]() There are several free chess database programs that work with Lion. ![]()
